Literature and Cinematography Programs
LITERATURE AND CINEMATOGRAPHY PROGRAMS
Each year the school offers literature and cinematography programs for pupils of all grades who are interested in coming in contact with the works of reputable Greek and foreign authors of fiction and non-fiction. From 1994 through 2006 the reading program was pioneered in cooperation with Ianos and included the following programs: Knowledge Rally, Literature in Education, Give Me My Book, World Literature Day, History in Literature, Society in Literature, Literature Olympiad, Lessons of Thessaloniki, Literature of the Silver Screen, The History of the Silver Screen, Aesops Was the Beginning, Re-Reading the Greek Classics. As part of the reading programs, several highly recognized authors visited the school and spke with the students, those authors include: A. Varela, N. Dimopoulos, S. Zarabouka, A. Zae, M. Kontoleon, N. Bakolas, L. Pertovic,-Androutsopoulou, E. Priovolou, Z. Sari, G. Skabardonis, G. Soureli, P. Trizivas, E. Fanikou, T. Hortiati, V. Hislop and others.BOOKPARTNERS
In 2007-2008 the school introduced the Bookpartners literature program. Students from the child care center through junior high have the opportunity to read books and meet the authors and visit the publishing houses. In connection with the program, the school was honored to host the following authors: Claire Georgelli, Eleni Svoronou, George Botsaas, Tassos Apostolidis, George Akokalidis, Nicholas Andrikopoulos, Christos Boulotis, Mercurios Authzis, and Eleni Priovolou.
In 2007-2008 the school worked in partnership with Metaihmio Publishing and in 2008-2009 with Hellenic Letters Publishing. The planning and coordination of the program was done by Aspa Hasioti.
BOOKTIME
In concert with Konstantinidis Bookstore, the school initiated the Booktime literature program in the English language. "Time to read". The English language has its literature, pictures and games. The best way to learn is to read and discuss, which makes the English language enthralling, pleasant and entertaining. As part of the program, the school was graced by the presence Louis de Bernières, the author of Captain Corelli's Mandolin, and in cooperation with Psychios Publishing
CINEMATOGRAPHY PROGRAMS
The cinematography club in the junior and senior high school takes part in the cinemagraphic competition entitled Let's Go to the Cinema, which is organized by Cinematography Festival and the Ministries of Education and Culture. The club earned national recognition in 2003 in a Pan-Hellenic Film Festival and Competition. Likewise, in 2005 and again 2007, the school earned honors at the International Festival of Films and Short Length Films
