English Garden

Mandoulides English Garden:



Mandoulides English Garden is a relatively new program for children of ages three through five whose mother tongue is English, and for students who wish to learn English at a level equal to their use of Greek.

English and American teachers instruct the English Garden.  They follow an analytical program that also uses theatre and game,music, art, computers, physical education and other activities to help bring the student along with expression.

The students follow a one-hour daily lesson in Greek as a means of paralleling with English their Greek language skills. 

After completing two years, the children will move on to kindergarten and elementary where lessons are conducted in Greek (not to include the English language lessons).

Elementary School
English is taught by certified Greek and native speaking English teachers. Bilingual and bilingual link classes are also available for elementary students.  

The teachers in upper elementary work to prepare students for the Cambridge FCE, PET and KET.

French and German are introduced as a second foreign language for students in the fifth and sixth grades and follow a program of two hours weekly.

Junior and Senior High School

Two foreign languages are obligatory in all classes of the junior high school : English and German or French.

Within the framework of English taught at the school, there are Bilingual classes (for bilingual children) and Bilingual Link classes (practice in oral and written English) which are taught by experienced certified native English teachers.

In order to improve our pupils’ knowledge continually, the School organizes educational programs for practice in English, French and German at prominent universities in the USA, France, Germany and Switzerland respectively.

 

Foreign Languages

Classes for preparation for certificates in English : KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE from Cambridge University and ECCE, ECPE from the University of Michigan are run for our pupils without any extra cost.

Classes are run for pupils in the senior high school who are interested in studying at universities in the USA and Great Britain in preparation for the examinations SAT 1  and SAT 2, TOEFL and IELTS.

Classes are also held for preparation for the French and German examinations : DELF UNITES A1-A2-B1-B2 and FIT1-FIT2-ZERTIFIKAT Deutsch Als Fremdsprache.

TESTING CENTER

The school is an accredited examination center recognized by ETS (Educational Testing Service) in TOEFL iBT (internet based test),  and ACT which are required for students wishing to attend either undergraduate of graduate programs in The United States or Europe.

The school also hosts examinations in KET, PET, FCE and CPE Cambridge exams and Michigan ECCE (Lower) and ECPE (Proficiency) exams.
