BALLET
BALLET

In ballet, the endeavor Mandoulides Schools has undertaken for past several years is to nurture the student's sense of appreciation and understanding for the art of classical dance. For that reason, we have created a unique section which allows for involvement the of all interested students from day care through and kindergarten through the sixth grade of elementary school. In the day care school and kindergarTen, the children learn basic dance steps while developing an appreciation for the music, improving on graceful motion and enhancing their imagination. Simultaneously, the child exercises mind and body and discovers new and meaningful avenues of expression. In the elementary school the children begin to command fluid motion and learn to follow the rhythm of the music, in turn the children improve the condition of their bodies. By studying ballet, the children will learn the meaning of dance and will improve the condition of both mind and body and pick up a variety dance steps, not merely learn memorized movement. Gradually, the children will become more expressive in both voice and body. Program: One day weekly; Monday 14:05-14:50 for students in third through sixth grades. Two days weekly; Monday and Thursday 13:00-14:00 for students in the child care center, kindergarTen and first and second elementary. Two days weekly; Monday and Thursday for students in first and second elementary who also take Bilingual or Bilingual Link classes on Monday at 14:45-15:30 and Thursday at 13:15-14:00.
